A native Iowan and 20 year Air Force veteran, Lee fell in love with Colorado Springs after being stationed in Colorado Springs. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel with a Doctor of Science from George Washington University and taught math to our cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy. After retiring from the Air Force, there was nowhere else Lee and his family wanted to live. His family has lived in District 1 for over 25 years.
Lee and his wife Pam live in the Mountain Shadows neighborhood and are active members in their church. He is the proud dad of two married daughters, seven grandkids, and 4 great-grandkids.
Lee actively volunteers and supports causes that are close to his heart. He serves on the state’s Suicide Prevention Commission where he leads as the Commissioner for Active US Military and Veterans, sings in his church choir and served as a moderator in the congregation, and sponsors cadets enrolled at the Air Force Academy.
In Lee’s free time he is an avid stringed bass player and enjoys spending time in the outdoors fishing and bird hunting with his bird dog Greta..
